Red Bull Air Races, Ascot 2014

The Red Bull Air Race World Championship is an official World Championship, accredited by the FAI that has become globally renowned as the fastest and most exhilarating motorsport on the planet.

Devised by Red Bull, 12 pilots compete in the Master Class category in eight races across the globe for the title of 2014 Red Bull Air Race World Champion. The objective is to navigate an aerial racetrack featuring air-filled pylons in the fastest possible time, incurring as few penalties as possible.

The UK round was held in August at England's historic Ascot Racecourse, where Britain's defending world champion Paul Bonhomme landed an epic home win in front of a 30,000 spectators.

I was invited by Red Bull to display my models which to my great surprise was very well received. During the 2 day event I didn’t get time to see any of the races as the crowd round my models was often 5 to 9 people deep.

A big thank you to Ben and others from Red Bull for making me feel so welcome.  Also a big thank you to my team for helping me with the models and supporting me at the event.

I look forward to doing this event again next year – and maybe I’ll get to see some of the races.
